Fan Edits

Important Notice:

Please make sure that you're following fan editing guidelines and it is highly recommended that you own a copy of the original film. Of course, there are going to be exceptions (like After Last Season). Fan edits are also not meant to be bought or sold. If you see anyone selling fan edits such as the ones I've made, please report them immediately.

Fan Edits (In Alphabetical Order)

Synopsis:
An imposing black structure provides a connection between the past and the future. When Dr. Dave Bowman (Keir Dullea) and other astronauts are sent on a mysterious mission, their ship's computer system, HAL 9000 (Douglas Rain), begins to display increasingly strange behavior, leading up to a tense showdown between man and machine that results in a mind-bending trek through space and time. Now rescored with music by Hans Zimmer from Christopher Nolan's 2014 sci-fi epic Interstellar.

General Information:
An edit that rescores Stanley Kubrick's masterpiece 2001: A Space Odyssey with music from Interstellar by Hans Zimmer. The film has also been edited to match up scenes with the music (with most being based from u/Tykjen's 2001-Interstellar fan edit and various other YouTube sources). Consider this as my take on the idea since this isn't a completely new concept.

Synopsis:
Matthew Andrews (Jason Kulas) and Sarah Austin (Peggy McClellan) are medical interns studying neurology at the Prorolis Corporation. When a serial killer begins murdering their fellow students, they use experimental chips to visualize the events of the crimes.

General Information:
Regarded as one of the worst films of all time, this mysterious film was released in 2009 and directed by Mark Region. The film has been panned for its story, acting, effects, and music with a ralphthemoviemaker video only further cementing its infamous and strange legacy. This edit serves to resolve these issues by rescoring the film with Classical music as if this was Stanley Kubrick directing (although it's more through essence than visuals) while cutting down pointless scenes and padding. The edit also uses an 1080p upscaled version of the film to allow for a clearer experience.

Chicken Little and the War of the Worlds

Synopsis:
No one would've believed in the early years of the 21st Century that our world was being watched by intelligences greater than our own. As they observed the Earth through curious eyes, the two worlds would eventually cross paths in the small town of Oakey Oaks where Chicken Little (Zach Braff) lives. At this point, he has been recovering from a past incident that saw him cause mass hysteria over an alleged "piece of the sky” that hit him. Eventually, the sky would truly fall when Chicken Little and his friends find out the truth of what really hit him and what may be lurking in Oakey Oaks.

General Information:
For this edit, the first half of the film has been cut out to focus on the alien invasion plot in the second half. With it also becoming a War of the Worlds parody, I've decided to make the film an extremely loose adaptation of H.G. Wells' The War of the Worlds. This means Tripod/alien sound effects have been added, the original music has been replaced with John Williams' score from Steven Spielberg's 2005 War of the Worlds adaptation, and a new opening featuring new narration and montage (including some clips from Zootopia to expand the scale of the world).

Jurassic Ice Age

Synopsis:
After Sid (John Leguizamo) pilfers some dinosaur eggs, Manny (Ray Romano), Diego (Denis Leary) and the rest of their prehistoric pals enter a mysterious, underground world to rescue the hapless sloth. During the course of their mission, the gang encounters many creatures great and small, including hungry carnivores and a relentless, dinosaur-hunting weasel named Buck.

General Information:
A Jurassic Park-themed fan edit of Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs that rescores the film with John Williams' score from the first two Jurassic Park films and replaces the dinosaur sounds with that from the Jurassic Park franchise. Based on a fan edit request by u/Chem-Memory9746. All but two scenes with Scrat have been removed for pacing along with other minor trimming of some scenes.

Snowpiercer: The Willy Wonka Cut

Poster by Reddit user u/Anakin5kywalker

Synopsis:

60 years after the events of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, the last of humanity resides on the Snowpiercer, a first-class luxury train built by Wilford Wonka (formerly Charlie Bucket) (Ed Harris) as a response to a new global ice age caused by the aerosol CW-7. While the rich thrive in the upper sections of the train, the poor reside in the tail-section where brutality and impoverished conditions are a constant. However, Curtis Everett (Chris Evans) leads the tail-section in a rebellion against Wilford by fighting their way to get to the front.

General Information:
Based on the popular "Wonkapiercer" fan theory by Rhino Stew, the "Willy Wonka Cut" of Snowpiercer sets to link the film closer to Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971) by utilizing musical leitmotifs (particularly "Pure Imagination") and flashbacks from that film. This is to make Snowpiercer feel more like a true post-apocalyptic sequel to Willy Wonka as originally theorized by Rhino Stew.

The Hatchling: The Jurassic World Edit

Synopsis:
Set before the events of Jurassic World Dominion, as the world begins to deal with the reintroduction of dinosaurs into the ecosystem, a tight-knit group is thrust into a thrilling adventure to help reunite a baby Deinocheirus with its family while evading the wrath of gargantuan beasts and a web of forces with their own agendas.

General Information:
This is a fan edit of The Hatchling which is a 2023 dinosaur short film that I highly recommend watching before viewing this (and also showing support to the crew behind the project). The short film isn't actually connected to Jurassic World as many speculated pre-release, but this fan edit serves as an alternate viewing experience with music from Michael Giacchino (and some Deinocheirus resounds) to align the short film more with the Jurassic World franchise.

Vivarium: The Kubrick Horror Cut

Synopsis:
Hoping to find the perfect place to live, Tom (Jesse Eisenberg) and Gemma (Imogen Poots) travel to an odd liminal suburban neighbourhood in which all the houses look identical. But when they try to leave, each road mysteriously takes them back to where they started. Eventually they are forced to take care of a child to set themselves free. However, strange occurences would take place resulting in the couple to slowly lose their minds.

General Information:
A Stanley Kubrick/The Shining inspired fan edit of Vivarium that rescores the film with Modernist Classical music (and some ballroom music from The Shining), edits the film in the style of The Shining's progression of time (such as adding time cards), removes padded out scenes, and removes certain scenes that goes against the uneasy tone of the edit.
