Synopsis:
Of all the Charlie Browns in the world, Brady Brown is the one who is the most forgotten. He suffers misfortunes, pines for a girl with red hair, and "good grief!" Nobody even acknowledges him. Well, except for Clarence. After being left after school, he and Clarence go on a trip to get back home.

Background:
The Cartoon Network show, Clarence isn't one that's talk too much of today, but for me, I do remember watching this show a lot and there were some episodes that still stuck with me. In this case, the Season 1 episode "The Forgotten" which features a Charlie Brown parody which is to me, the most spot on impersonation of the character and even the feeling of Peanuts at times with the jazz music that plays over his monologues. The irony is how forgotten this episode and the overall show is. It isn't even brought up too much when it comes to even the conversation of shows and films that referenced Peanuts. It's an episode that stuck out and for a long time, I've thought about making a Peanuts-themed edit for this specific episode and today with this being 75 years since the Peanuts' first comic strip issue, the time is right.

Goals:
The main goal is to format this more as a short which connects the Peanuts' influence on to this episode. This goes for adding an introduction which is more to provide the viewer info on the Peanuts' longevitiy and to connect what Brady Brown is, a forgotten Charlie Brown despite sharing similar qualities. In addition, Vince Guaraldi's music from the Peanuts' specials and the film A Boy Named Charlie Brown. It should be noted that the intent isn't to imply these take place in the same world, but to make the Peanuts homages more overt. It's more to show how far that series' influence still exists today even in something that is forgotten.

Change List:

Added Starlight Fan Edits logo (which is overlayed on a blue background)

Used the opening (and a later) of A Charlie Brown Christmas for the introduction.

Replaced the music with "Skating" by Vince Guaraldi to establish the mood.

Added some title cards for the opening.

Added some introductory text which goes over the Peanuts' and Charlie Brown's longevity and memorability.

The portion where Charlie Brown carries his Christmas tree out from the play is used in the last half of the introduction.

Edited in a transition where we zoom out to reveal the special playing on a television in Clarence's house to make the transition between the two different properties and art style more natural.

Faded out and in to the original beginning of the episode.

Rescored music sections of Brady Brown's monologues at school with "Oh, Good Grief" by Vince Guaraldi.

Removed the original music when Clarence and Brady start their "road trip" home with "Charlie Brown Theme" by Vince Guaraldi. This piece plays all the way until we get to our second scene of Chad.

Added in a brief cue of "Blue Charlie Brown" by Vince Guaraldi during Brady's brief monologue while climbing a mountain.

Rescored the music that plays in the canyon shot with "Schroeder" by Vince Guaraldi. The music cuts off in the straight cut like the original music did.

The canyon's "face" was noted to look like Charles Schulz according to a Clarence fan. So as a result, I made the "face" more visible using an image of Schulz that matches the face's features closely. This is to make it more overt and visible.

Rescored the music that plays in the freeway bridge scene with "Happiness Is" and "Motocross" by Vince Guaraldi. The fantasy sequence uses a reprise of "Motocross".

Rescored the music that plays in the bus scene with the 2nd reprise of "Linus and Lucy" from the special It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.

Added in Guaraldi's rendition of the jazz standard "Autumn Leaves" from the album "Jazz Impressions of A Boy Named Charlie Brown". The music of course gets cut off as Clarence interrupts the moment.

"Linus and Lucy" by Vince Guaraldi plays during the ending Peanuts reference, the original dance sequence being referenced and the end credits.

The Peanuts reference at the original end of the episode has been extended to fit in with the music. It also dissolves into the original dance sequence from A Charlie Brown Christmas bringing everything full-circle.

End credits have been redone to maintain consistency with how the edit started. The font used is the same one from the film A Boy Named Charlie Brown.
